Gabriel Apolloni

Linklaters Legal Fellow
Gabriel is a Linklaters Legal Fellow at JUSTICE, who hasexperience in both criminal law and public law matters, and working on projectsencompassing both areas. He is also assisting with the inaugural JUSTICE Northproject.

Gabriel graduated with a Law degree from the University ofLiverpool in 2021. He then completed his Bar training with an Advanced CriminalPractice specialism in 2023. Following this, he was awarded a funded place onthe Bachelor of Civil Law at the University of Oxford in 2024, where he studieda mix of criminal and public law modules.

During his legal studies, Gabriel undertook voluntary roles atLiverpool Law Clinic, City Community Legal Advice Centre and the FreeRepresentation Unit, providing pro bono representation and advice on housing,immigration and social security matters. He also currently volunteers as aResearch Officer on the Oxford Pro Bono Publico Committee, working on researchbriefs for a variety of international organisations. He spent one year as theDirector of Vocalise, a prison-based debating scheme, which followed a yearteaching as a Mentor at HMP Pentonville.

Gabriel worked for three years as a Parliamentary Assistant in theUK Parliament, working on multiple law reform campaigns, as well as assistingwith parliamentary committee work and authoring speeches. He also recentlycompleted a Bonavero Fellowship at the Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law,completing projects on the statutory disapplication of the Human Rights Act andoversight of inquiry recommendations.
