Central to JUSTICE’s mission is bringing a better understanding of good law and legal process to those who make our laws.
We provide briefings for decision-makers in Westminster and Whitehall (at Holyrood and Leith, and in Brussels and Strasbourg) which highlight the significant implications of policy initiatives and proposed legislation for civil, criminal and administrative law and practice and for the protection of individual rights.
We are also engaged with the development of emerging law, policy and practice, producing detailed contributions to consultations and inquiries and in response to the policy statements of leading public bodies, official and Government Departments in the UK and key institutions in Europe.
This work includes engaging with the scrutiny of the UK’s compliance with its international human rights obligations, providing shadow reports to UN monitoring bodies and special procedures within the areas of our expertise.
