Baroness Hale of Richmond discusses key issues about the Court and her career with Roger Smith OBE, Director of JUSTICE.
Baroness Hale of Richmond was the first, and remains the only, woman Supreme Court Justice. She has had an unconventional legal career, moving from academia to the bench. She has been a Law Commissioner and also was, for many years, a trustee of the Nuffield Foundation with an interest in access to justice.
In a free-ranging discussion with Roger Smith and the audience, Baroness Hale will discuss a variety of topics including;
- Her varied career
- The changing nature of the legal profession
- The role of the Supreme Court
- The current state of human rights
- The role of the judiciary
