This summer has seen the Lord Chancellor commit both to reinvigorating the rule of law and to the repeal of the Human Rights Act 1998. Preservation of the Act – and the UK’s participation in the European Convention on Human Rights – was one of the cornerstones of the Liberal Democrat commitment in coalition. Join us to consider the protection of individual rights in the UK, the role of the courts and of Parliament.
