We are delighted to announce the launch of our next JUSTICE report, Supporting Exonerees: ensuring accessible, continuing and consistent support, on Tuesday 17 April 2018, kindly hosted by White & Case LLP.

The report focusses on the absence of effective State support for exonerees, including financial and welfare services. The report provides ambitious recommendations to meet the unique needs of people who find themselves in this position.

The report will be launched with a panel of experts discussing the issues faced by exonerees following the quashing of their convictions, with an introduction from Barry Sheerman MP, chair of the APPG on Miscarriages of Justice. We are pleased that Paul McLaughlin, MOJO; Matt Foot, Birnberg Peirce; John Kamara, exoneree; and Laura Tilt, DPhil candidate, University of Oxford researching aftercare support, have agreed to speak to this important issue.

Registration is from 5.30 pm, and the panel will start at 6 pm, which will be followed by a drinks reception. If you are interested in attending, please email events@justice.org.uk at your earliest convenience to see if there are spaces available. Please note we are operating on a first-come first-served basis.
