JUSTICE is a UK-wide organisation, and we strive to ensure that that our work is representative of the legal system across the country. To give us the opportunity to deepen our relationships with legal practitioners, other experts, and interested parties in Manchester and the surrounding area, we are hosting a free public lecture and drinks reception in association with the Ombudsman Association.
In addition to the Government’s heavy legislative programme and the Covid-19 backlog exacerbating an already strained system, the last year has seen huge challenges to the rule of law in the United Kingdom, from the proposed Bill of Rights Bill to attacks on legal professionals in the press. A strong, evidence-based defence of the rule of law has never been more needed.
Join JUSTICE and the Ombudsman Association on Wednesday 2 November for a free lecture on Democracy and the Rule of Law, delivered by the Rt. Hon. Sir Ernest Ryder.
Registration: from 5:30pm
Lecture: 6pm
Followed by a drinks reception.
JUSTICE are grateful to the Ombudsman Association for their support of this event.
