Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities – Call for Evidence

On 16 July 2020, amid the #BlackLivesMatter protests across the world, the Government launched the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities to explore the issues of racial and ethnic disparities in the UK, with particular reference to the areas of health, education, criminal justice and employment. It intends to report by the end of 2020.

Responding to the Commission’s Call for Evidence, JUSTICE made a submission which addressed issues of racial disparity in the education and criminal justice systems, as well as judicial diversity. Our response built on the wealth of insight developed from several reports over the years, including interim findings of our Tackling Racial Injustice: Children and the Youth Justice System Working Party.
